Puerto Vallarta in May: Guide to Festivals & Pride đłď¸âđ
One of the most important local days is Motherâs Day (May 10). In Mexico, this is a major celebrationâbigger than in many other countries, Restaurants fill up, families gather for long, breakfasts or lunches, and youâll often hear live mariachi serenading mothers throughout the day.
Then, as the month builds, everything leads into the main event: Vallarta Pride (May 17â24, 2026).
This is when Puerto Vallarta shifts gears completely. The city fills with visitors, and the atmosphere becomes vibrant, open, and celebratory.
And here is the calendar for the gay parade week:
- May 17Â â Opening events and parties begin
- May 18Â â Pet Parade (a fun, very local-favorite event)
- May 21Â â Pride Parade along the MalecĂłn (the biggest day)
- May 21â24Â â Beach parties, club events, and major nightlife
- May 24Â â Closing celebrations
Even if youâre not specifically coming for Pride, itâs hard not to get swept up in the energyâitâs everywhere, from beach clubs to restaurants to the streets at night. It is really one-of-a-kind experience! And if you do come to celebrate, please feel free to reach out to us for more info. See you guys in May!
